Probably Stolen Wiki

A working reference for Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Pawnshop Simulator — the cyberpunk pawnshop simulator from Questing Goose Studio, published by tinyBuild. Every fact on this site is traced to an official source and dated.

What this site is

Probably Stolen is in a free Steam Playtest with a 2026 release window. This wiki documents what is officially confirmed today — release status, PC requirements, the six starting paths and the core shop systems — and clearly separates that from what still needs to be verified in-game.

Pages for individual items, NPCs and machines are being written as the Playtest is played. We publish an answer when we have one, not a placeholder.

All 6 Starting Scenarios

Gunsmith, Chemist, Water Merchant, Fence, Farmer and Rock Bottom compared side by side.

The six starting paths

Probably Stolen does not have character classes. It has product lines, and each one carries its own consequence. The official description is blunt about it:“You’re not choosing a theme for your shop, you’re choosing which kind of trouble you’re willing to monetize.”

PathProduct lineOfficial consequence
GunsmithWeaponsWeapons require permits and modifications, and bring inspections.
ChemistChemicalsChemicals bring addiction. Profitable recipes are closely guarded.
Water MerchantWaterWater brings liability. It must be tested and filtered before resale.
FenceStolen goodsContraband brings raids. Stolen goods must be hidden from the authorities.
FarmerProduceTied to farming and production chains rather than fast contraband margins.
Rock BottomNoneNo starting specialisation — you begin from nothing.

Core systems

These are the systems named directly in the official Steam description. Exact numbers — prices, rent curves, recipe ratios — are not published by the developer and are being recorded from the Playtest.

System

Rent Pressure

Rent increases over time regardless of how well your week went. Falling behind reduces store attractiveness, which reduces customer traffic, which reduces revenue — widening the gap.

System

Buying Out the Shop

The stated objective is to earn enough to buy out your shop before rising rent forces your hand.

System

Appraisal & Authentication

Rare items need proper appraisal to avoid overpaying. Cigarette packs need visual inspection before resale. Suppliers overstate value.

System

Counterfeiting

You can cut a product’s quality, relabel counterfeit products as genuine, or fence discounted stolen goods if you believe Security won’t reach you.

System

Customer Risk

Today’s customer could be Security fishing for evidence, a revolutionary seeking leverage, or a fallen elite testing your usefulness. Approve, refuse, report, or look away — someone is always taking notes.

System

Reputation

Reputation buys access and protection, but it also paints a target on your back.

Being written now

These entities are confirmed to exist — players are discussing them by name on the official Steam forums — but their in-game behaviour is not documented by the developer. Rather than publish a page that says “unknown”, each one gets written up once it has been verified in the current Playtest build.

Items: Cassettes · Dried BloomBerry · Ribwich · Neon Signs · Cigarettes · Lottery Ticket · Radioactive Waste · Rats

NPCs: Johnathan Wild · Dr Jackson · Greggario · Clown · Mime

Systems: Module Bonuses · Instant Buy · Bartering · Endless Mode · Furnace
